As we move through 2024, it's clear that the recent relief in housing affordability is beginning to slow across Canada. In the second quarter, affordability improved a touch thanks to higher incomes and steady home prices—a welcome change, especially here in Greater Vancouver, where we saw some positive momentum alongside Toronto. However, markets in parts of the Prairies and Atlantic Canada experienced declines, highlighting how local conditions can shift. Looking ahead, rising interest rates could mean higher costs by 2027. Navigating these changes requires thoughtful strategy and up-to-date market insights, especially when making decisions about your next move in the Vancouver area. My approach is always to blend strategic pricing with a keen understanding of the current market to help clients reach their real estate goals.
